Eglwyswrw - Frochest - Pant-teg Wood - Pencelli Forest - Eglwyswrw

The bare length of the walk without entering the nature reserve is about five miles. The reserve covers a large area and is networked with paths and trails covering different habitats. The walk outside of the reserve gives great views of the Precilli Mountains, but Pencelli Forest is well worth a visit.

Most of the walk is on quiet country lanes with good views. The return route is via an old sunken lane which can be muddy.

Please note we have had reports of an obstruction on this walk, between Waymarks 9 and 10, which is being investigated by the authorities.

I did this walk today 1.11.15. Enjoyed it up till Pengelli Forest. Had a lovely walk through the forest and then came back and carried on with my walk. From point number 9 onwards was bad. I got lost and most of the path was blocked by fallen trees. I managed to climb and duck and dive through it all, brambles were holding me back at times, but apart from all that it was a nice walk. But it seriously needs attending to.

Between waypoints 9 and 10 the path has been blocked by a fence just as you try to enter the forest. It is very difficult to find another route unless you backtrack to point 8 and then make your way to the A487.
