This is a lovely and very popular circular walk of contrasts, along long valleys through bright and cheerful woods, (and a dark and gloomy wood), alongside the streams and babbling brooks of a Nature Reserve, and then round a municipal golf course. Finally, back along the other side of the brook to the car park. The valley is long and narrow and numerous paths meander through it. You can abandon this walk at any time and explore them instead; it is very difficult to actually get lost. (The walkers in the photo are at the top of the valley). You will be walking mainly on firm paths, but some woodland sections may be a bit muddy after rain. There is a short very steep section at the end of the walk where wheelchair users will need strong assistance. This is a shorter alternative to walk 7544.

Good for children, teenagers, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Excellent for dogs; and several kissing gates are now extra-wide for wheelchairs and buggies. There are no stiles, but buggies and wheelchair users should have very few problems. All of the paths are excellent so good trainers will be fine footwear. There are no refreshments or toilets available; however, there are picnic tables and bench seats scattered along the route. The standard map is hard to follow, so in the 'Related downloads' section of this walk you will find a jpg file of an enlarged map of the track with waymark locations.
