We begin at Es Cuco, just south of Port des Torrent and ramble through the lovely countryside of Ses Planes. Before long we are in pinewoods and later emerge on the stunning coastline at Es Penyal. A picturesque clifftop ramble brings us to the charming sandy bay of the popular Cala Bassa. What a spot to enjoy a rest and a swim in the crystal-clear waters if you are walking in spring or early summer (but see additional information!) Tearing ourselves away from this spot, we pick our way carefully along the maze of tracks that crisscross the forest behind the bay. One more enchanting little diversion through ageless countryside brings us to the quiet road back to Es Cuco. This one-kilometre-plus stretch is unavoidable, but soon brings us back to the café we set out from.
