The walk begins in beautiful woodland and follows a stream, which is eventually crossed, to reach more open pastureland. The climb in the woodland is steepish, but not really arduous. Once out of the wood you are in open country with excellent views of the mountains and this view is maintained right up to the outward limit of the walk, which is a ruined building.
Your steps are retraced for a while, but then you leave the outward route to reach the highest point of the walk. From here you descend into a forest and follow a forest trail back to your starting point.
