This is a short out and back walk to a headland near the village of Durness. The headland has great views along the North Coast of Scotland; on a clear day you can see from Cape Wrath Light to the Orkneys.

Whilst the headland is somewhat marred by an MoD installation, the real star of the walk are Balnakeils, two white-sand beaches which are among the best in the north of Scotland.

Off road and with plenty of beach walking this is great for lead free times with your dogs, Faraid Head is grazing land however and care should be taken with livestock
