This is a circular walk on tracks, footpaths and lanes through a quiet part of the Cotswolds.
From the parking area there is a long, straight, wooded, ancient track which gradually climbs to stunning, open Cotswold views. Fields are then walked, taking in a barrow and an ancient monument. It then passes through Farmcote with its few but striking houses and superb little church. There are no facilities on the walk but there is an excellent pub in Ford. Toddington is the base for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, which runs into Cheltenham on certain days.
There is a longer alternative to this walk - walk number 4561, which is almost 8 miles long and the same section of the Cotswold Way as this walk, plus a whole lot more including the villages of Temple Guiting, Ford and Cutsdean.
