Starting from the beautiful St Mary's Church in Farthingstone, the walk visits Litchborough. Both are wonderful Northamptonshire villages with the interest and appeal of old and lovely buildings of sand-coloured stone, the architectural designs of which are a pure delight. Another noteworthy point is that the red telephone kiosks and postboxes are retained in these parts, a charming detail now lost in many areas. The rural countryside is superb, with gentle uplands that rise above the green and pleasant land.
