From Fenny Compton Wharf, the route takes the Oxford Canal for a short section to Fenny Marine, leaving it to visit Fenny Compton Village before heading for the Wormleighton Reservoir. The railway strongly featured along the way. The canal towpath is again taken along The Tunnel Straight, a pretty section, straight and narrow where there was once a tunnel of considerable length. It was opened out well over a hundred years ago when the land above it was bought by the canal company, ending the bottle-neck difficulties that had ensued till then. Fenny Marine is a large and interesting spectacle, providing moorings for many boats and the canalside Wharf Inn, a little further on, is popular with boaters and road-users alike.
