A short, easy, circular walk for all the family to enjoy, starting from The George in the beautiful village of Finchdean. There is a lot of variety on the way along field-paths, tracks and woodland with some excellent views in exchange for a gentle climb. Those walking with dogs may find it useful to know that my dog, a fit, slim Labrador who cannot jump, managed the stiles with ease.
Please note that after prolonged periods of persistent rain, the tunnel under the railway line at Waymark 8 can flood. I checked it on 4th April 2013 and it was dry.

This walk commences with a moderate climb - might be a bit hard going for novice/unaccustomed walkers. But it's well worth the climb - great views. The walk up through the wood was made particularly pleasant by the carpet of wild garlic when we went through. Mud is no problem - all dried out. A very pleasant short walk that requires a bit of effort. We drank before and after at the george. Dogs on leads permitted in garden.
