A circular walk starting at the ancient village of Firle, where there is a country house open to the public. You climb up to the downs, walk along the South Downs Way to Alfriston and come back along a low-level route, either by the fast track bridleway, or more interestingly, via the local villages, with the opportunity of visiting the excellent local churches and pubs (see additional info'). Also you pass by the Charleston Farm Museum, the home of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell, whose work will be seen on the walls of Berwick Village Church.
By linking to Walk 3925, there is the opportunity to indulge in a day-long circular walk from Firle. Switch to Walk 3925 at Bopeep car park. On Walk 3925, between Waymarks 20 and 21, turn right in Alfriston Square into West Street, at the end of which you will find Waymark 04 of this walk.
