There are numerous ways to the top of Knockfarrel (also shown as Knock Farril on some maps), two of which are described in Walks 704 and 2741, but this gives a better option if looking for a short walk. It is a bit steeper but has the advantage of views throughout and also, even if its winter, sun for most of the way; whereas the route from Strathpeffer is in the shade for longer.
