Although this is a short easy walk, it may take all morning. The Forest of Dean is always good for birdwatching and you are likely to see hawfinches and crossbills here as well as the more usual woodland birds. The colours in the autumn are a photographer's paradise, while the many species of mosses are a joy all the year round.
