Formby and Slack Path (Corona Walk 17)

The walk is unlike 8636 (Ainsdale National Nature Reserve) in that it keeps entirely to the wooded sections or their fringes. It soon leaves the popular walk that is now a cycleway and uses tracks that were gated off a few years ago, but have now been made open to walkers. The Slack Path is well-marked and easy to follow but I left it to make a longer walk around the whole area with options to leave it for shorter versions. Some sections are sandy paths, not the easiest of terrain, but most of it is on good surfaces.
