A moorland walk to the very edge of the Merrivale Firing Range, but not into it. Up at Great Mis Tor, the second of the tors visited, you should with a little bit of luck find the Devil's Frying Pan. The views from the top of this tor on a good day, are quite magnificent.

If the red flag is flying at the top of Great Mis Tor you are not allowed to venture further east than the top of the tor, since the flag indicates the Merrivale MoD Firing Range is in use. This walk takes you to the edge of, but not into, the firing range, so you will be safe to continue with your walk. From Great Mis you head way across to the top of North Hessary Tor, right under the 800ft mast which dominates the landscape for miles around. En route you visit Rundlestone Tor and can see Hollow Tor ΒΌ mile off your route to the right. Dropping down from 'The Mast' you come to Foggintor, or rather what is left of it. You can walk right through Foggintor, since it is a hollow shell of its former self, but the size of the quarried area and the large pool make it a very attractive place in its own right.

From Foggintor the route leads you to another quarry site at Swell Tor, before continuing across to King's Tor, the last of the seven tors walked by or even over or through.

The walk then takes you down towards Merrivale to a good example of a 10ft high standing stone, a small stone circle and finally via a double stone row back to the car park.
