There are many walks in this area and this is aimed at walkers who want all the "goodies" without the effort. All the views are there for very little climbing. I saw grouse, wheatears, pipits, buzzards and hundreds of skylarks today. Anyone wishing for a longer walk in this area would do better to look at Walk 903.

Chose this as my first walk since my school days when we would spend time at outdoor pursuit centres navigating through the Beacons. Given my level of fitness is nothing like what it used to be I decided on this walk due to the gentle elevation changes and the views. There was a little snow on the ground, which made for some very soft ground, and looking at the path I was the first up there that day. The Blorenge is a good place to practice your navigation with a map and compass (especially if you are a bit rusty) as there are quite a few prominent landmarks you can use and as they are nearly always visible they act as a safety line. Overall, a great beginners walk with excellent views.

THIS WALK IS PERFECT FOR ANYONE WHO IS JUST STARTING OR CONSIDERING WALKING AS A HOBBY. YOU HAVE EXCELLENT VIEWS THROUGHOUT THE WALK INCLUDING A PERFECT 360 AT THE TRIG POINT. YOU GET ALL THIS FOR ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF EFFORT BECAUSE THE WALK DOESN'T CONTAIN ANY ASCENTS. IF THIS WALK DOESN'T "HOOK" YOU NOTHING WILL!
