This can be a magical walk in winter when the geese fly in formation. The paths are good, as the route is mainly along the long distance path 'Peddars Way', hedged Tracks, field edges and along country roads. When we did this walk we watched four short-eared owls flying and resting in the fields, on the latter part of it. King William 4th Inn is very popular for pub food, but it is closed on Mondays. For points of interest and historic notes see in 'additional information'.

We did this walk today and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a dog friendly walk. My only comment would be that we were unable to park where the walk details advise you - maybe at this time of year the area is more overgrown. We simply missed this small section out and parked at point (2) on the map - the walk was still showing on our GPS as 8.45 despite missing this part out.

Parked beside Fring church and did the walk in reverse. At point 9 instead of turning right we turned left and then shortly after right along public footpath to church on right. There was a lane on left to main road to rejoin walk. Paths were in very good order and the road walked at the start was very quiet.
