Two pretty Oxfordshire villages are featured on this walk, beginning in Fritwell and visiting Somerton. The route passes several outlying farms and there are far-reaching views over attractive landscape and down to the Oxford Canal from the country road on the return journey.

The George and Dragon pub has closed down, but I had an excellent meal in the very friendly Kings Head. Also the walk invlolves walking across fields where there are at least 200 head of cows. They made a bee line for us, and we beat a retreat. Not recommended, especially if you have dogs. I'm not sure of the legalities if footpaths where there are very large numbers of male cows, especially as there have been cases recently of people being killed when walking amongst them. There was no alternative path to take, so we ended up going through the private yard, sorry, but it's quite frightening when such a large herd is pressing in on you. Maybe they thought we were bringing the food.
