Beginning at the attractive village of Fritwell the walk route takes a fine bridleway towards Tusmore Park. With the building of the M40 some years ago the footpaths in this area were diverted to accommodate it, and some of them are taken on this walk. Although the motorway does intrude for a while, it is interesting to see how the lush countryside in this region has absorbed it. The Tusmore estate is beautiful with many well established trees and also new tree plantations. Ardley and Fewcott are two villages that merge with each other but retain their own identity. The final stretch of country road walking back to Fritwell is all the more pleasant for the vibrant verges coloured with wild flowers.
