The walk crosses the town from Castle Park in the west by a series of footpaths between houses. It then makes a loop south through open country on the driest paths that I could find (summer 2012, remember?) There are plenty of ups and downs and some attractive tracks with always the chance of good views. This walk was enjoyed in winter by my RA group for whom I devised it.

Walked 12/1/14 and all pretty much as described in the instructions. However, the kissing gate at Waymark 16 was surrounded by thick mud that looked as if it was shallow and was actually more than ankle-deep; this was after a period of wet weather but I would suggest this kissing gate is avoided (you don't have to go through it as there are no gates or fences on one side) and that you follow the tractor tyre marks for a safer passage. Fine for dogs, we met no livestock and there were plenty of spots where they go off the lead once you are out of the town.
