The walk starts at the Fuengirola train station. Head out of town via the bustling Avenida de Mijas. From here we head out to the Arrabal Sector, then along a often dry river. There is plenty of wildlife here, including parrots. From here we pick up a cycle track back to the seafront at the castle and along the seafront with its bars and ice cream parlours. Finally it's back via the Plaza with its many side alleys to explore.

We are sorry you feel this way. The walk shows you Fuengirola, highs, warts and all. The poor areas are no worse than many urban areas in the UK. The industrial areas with barking guard dogs are fincas and it is fairly normal to have guard dogs, we have seen scarier on UK farms. Personally we love this walk, which is why we shared it.

Apart from the section along the promenade and some parts of the river path, this isn’t a pleasant walk. It takes you through poor streets, industrial areas, barking guard dogs and busy roads.
