Starting from the old village of Galmpton (mentioned in the Doomsday Book), we walk along quiet country roads to a green lane that takes us up a wooded track and across farmland - with many peeks at the River Dart - and woodland to a high viewpoint, with superb views over and along the River Dart towards Kingswear and Dartmouth. Here there is a chance of a detour to see the gardens of Greenway House (NT), once the home of the world=famous crime writer Agatha Christie. Further bridleways then take us to another high viewpoint with views over the River Dart and Torbay before dropping down again to return to Galmpton.
