Six miles west of Stirling lies the attractive village of Gargunnock. Part of this energetic walk is across open hillside with steep gullies to be negotiated. The walk offers some beautiful views across the Carse of Stirling to the impressive mountains of Perthshire.

A diversion may be made from Waymark 05 to view a waterfall at an old quarry. This would of itself constitute a short there-and-back walk of about two miles, instead of the 4½-mile complete circuit.
