From our start point at the head of the beautiful Torrent del Coll de la Bena Valley, we begin by following a wide track through woods with majestic mountain scenery all around us. After a kilometre or so we branch off to climb steeply through pine and mixed forest. Red squirrels are common and we may catch a glimpse of the black woodpecker, the emblem of the Cadi-Moixeró Natural Park. Those not wishing to make this forest climb can continue along the wide track which will also bring you to the Coll de la Bauma. Ascending to this picturesque spot we begin our ramble back along a delightfully peaceful forest footpath, which wends its way back to the start.
