From Dalmunzie House Hotel near the Spittal of Glenshee, follow the trackbed of Scotland's first mountain railway to the ruined Glenlochsie Lodge. From here a wide track climbs over 500 metres along the southern ridge of Glas Tulaichean to the 1,051m summit. Five ridges spread out like fingers from the summmit. Follow the narrow path down the north-east ridge to the valley below and turn west to reach the base of Carn an Righ. A 250-metre climb takes you to the 1,029m summit with its panoramic views ranging from Beinn a'Ghlo in the west to Glenshee hills in the east and the Cairngorms directly to the north. The return route visits a small lochan, Loch nan Eun, with a waterfall at its outflow at the head of Gleann Taitneach and finishes off with a 7km walk down the glen to Dalmunzie House. This is a long and demanding walk over exposed and fairly remote hillside; go well prepared for all weathers.
