Update 2021: the clifftop path has become neglected and is now near-nigh impassable; I cannot recommend this walk until this section has been reinstated.

This quiet walk is along lanes - mainly the sort with grass down the middle - and visits two seaside villages connected by a spectacular clifftop coastal path.

Update 2021: the walk contributor advises against attempting this walk until the landowner reinstates the clifftop path between Waymarks 9 and 11.

This walk was great until the coastal path. This should have been the best part of the walk but sadly it was very difficult to do. The path had disappeared in many places and the gorse was very overgrown. Our hands and legs were ripped to shreds despite our walking gear. I was covered in blood by the time we reached the end of the walk. The problem was exacerbated by the farmer deciding to allow cattle on the already narrow path. Their hooves churned the path to mud and this also proved a problem for our dog, who was on a lead. When we reached Stairhaven there was a sign which stated 'strictly no dogs , livestock on path' . It's a shame this sign was not displayed at the other end of the walk. We would have turned back. Also I am not sure who has a right to determine whether dogs are allowed on a public coastal path? Or is this stretch privately owned. ?
