The climbing is done at the start and gets you up to the high ground and the wonderful views. Coppet Hill Nature Reserve is rich in all types of wildlife. The woods are blue with bluebells in the spring and also rich in wild orchid and primrose. Rabbits and foxes are often seen, as are all the woodland birds. On the river are mallard and goosander, as well as the peregrines nesting up on nearby Yat Rock.

Great walk with views of Goodrich. A steep climb to begin but views are worthwhile. Finished walk with a visit to the castle.

The climb at the start is indeed a bit stiff but the views are a great reward. Lovely amble along the Wye with swimming opportunities for dogs if so inclined. We started the walk by parking at the side of the road at waymark 3 just where the steps up the hill begin. This avoided keeping the dog on the lead up from Goodrich and also cut out a wee bit of the initial uphill hike. Altogether a very enjoyable walk.
