Starting from the church at Gosfield, just north of Braintree, use field-paths and country lanes to make a circuit, taking in Great Cobham Hall and the village of Beazley End. Then after a couple of bridleways and more field-paths, pass through Gosfield Lakes Golf Course then shortly arrive back at Gosfield Church.

I last did this lovely walk many years ago and Sid's updated version is even better. There are some lovely tracks plus the area is teeming with wildlife - even in January. The golf course section (from WP27) is a really nice way to get back to the start. Finally a mention for the Kings Head in Gosfield - a fine pub that's well worth a visit.
