This walk explores two areas of woodland. Both are predominantly beech and are particularly pretty in the spring. Most of the walk is on good tracks or quiet lanes and although there is a 200 metres height gain, none of it is steep, up or down, so it is suitable for most family members.

Nice walk which we did on a hot day so the woodland areas were shady and much appreciated. We didn't think it was terribly dog friendly, some of the stiles would be a push for anything bigger than a terrier. Oh, and don't get excited about the pub at WP7/8, its no longer a pub. Its now a wedding venue.

A good woodland walk which is very dog friendly through the areas of woodland. The diverging path at point 4 no longer diverges as a fence has been erected along the length of the field-you either have to go to the top of the field and go diagonally back down towards the stile or follow the ride at point 2 which actually meets the path coming up from the stile.

See my blog post on walking in Great Barnets Wood http://uskchirps.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/great-barnets-wood.html the walk in the wood itself is very dog friendly

At step 9, the one fingerpost, the one we follow, has been removed. Go straight across to the field edge as described.
