This is a short circular but very rural walk not far from Chester for some gentle exercise either before or after a nice meal at the White Horse, or somewhere different to take the dog for a walk. It has excellent paths, particularly in fine weather, with very few buildings once you are away from the village. There are several easy gates but no stiles or other difficult features. The farm tracks and footpaths are enclosed either between hedges or fences and although a bit muddy in winter, they are in good condition and well used; and you won’t encounter any farm animals. The slopes are very gentle and quite easy walking.
The walk is suitable for children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. The route is excellent for dogs, difficult for buggies, and hopeless for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled such as strong trainers or stout shoes, but boots will be best and there should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. On your route there are no refreshments, picnic tables or bench seats, and the only facility is the White Horse Inn, where if you book in advance, you should be able to get a good meal with a drink, an excellent finish to a good walk.
