From Great Rollright, famous for its stone circle, the walk soon takes a route with glorious views over splendid Cotswold countryside. Following footpaths and bridleways, through fields and meadows, along ridges overlooking valleys, uphill and down and along tracks and minor roads, this walk visits three lovely villages. The small charming village of Ascott is a pleasure to walk through, with grand houses and cottages, full of interest and appeal. The much larger village of Hook Norton has everything needed to be self-contained, but maintains its rural aspect with a thriving community spirit. The walk borders Oxfordshire and Warwickshire on the edge of the Cotswolds and at times is quite strenuous.

4/2/2014 - Martin Seymour

We did this walk on 31 March 2014. Despite the widespread and severe floods of the winter there was surprisingly little mud about. This is a lovely walk through totally unspoilt countryside, untroubled by motorways or dual carriageways and thankfully spared the visual blight of electricity pylons. In general the directions are good, although a little vague in places.
