Visit the largest village green in England, then using lanes and field-paths and tracks pass through Little Bentley Wood; it's an absolute delight in the bluebell season. You also pass the settlements of Raven's Green, Balls Green, Hare Green and Frating, before returning to the village green at Great Bentley. This walk complements another from Great Bentley (1213), which also appears in the book 'Footpaths of Britain'.

I don't know where to start with this walk.Nearly every path hadn't been walked and most of the footpath signs are missing.I'll update as best I can At Waymark 1, the path on the left is about 100 yards past the last house on the left. At waymark 2, the footbridge is at the bottom right corner of the field. At waymark 3, the footpath on the left on the A133 is just past the speeding camera sign. At waymark 4, when you arrive at GumhamsFarm, the path passes through the farm indicated by a marker on the wooden fence,go through the metal gate on the left which takes you on the right side of a field leading to the road, its not the farms driveway.Spring cottage is now named spring house and the footpath on the left is after the Little Bentley sign, not before. At waymark 6, the footpath on the left is not on the left of the 1st bend, but the second bend. At waymark 7, the Snooty Inn has been renamed to The White Rose. At waymark 10, the field has been ploughed,no visible path.I turned right, then left and followed the field edge to the bottom right hand corner where the marker post is. At waymark 11, again no visible path across the field, was full of crops. So walk down the farm track, turning left towards the farm.Walk through the farm and you arrive at a parking area. The footbridge is at the bottom right corner. At waymark 12, the Red lion Inn,is now a residential house.
