A stroll through the fertile basin beneath the brown ever-presence of the Fairsnape and Parlick fells; mainly on hard tracks but a fair portion across fields and suitable for any time of the year.

The approach to Blindhurst (waypoint 9 ) was a river of mud for several hundred yards even in the middle of August and after very little rain. Take old footwear to negotiate this section of an otherwise delightful walk.

A wonderful walk - tremendous views, largely good paths and easy to navigate. But beware - we were turfed out of the Village Hall car park as it was 'private land' (there were no other vehicles present!), and we were ticked off for driving up the concessionary access road, informed that this is now private access / estate land. Not sure if the individual was simply being over officious; but plenty of room to park near the church.
