Grindleford Railway Station - Hathersage Booths - Kettle House - Grindleford Station
A short route, but passes an old historic chapel and continues along a farm track towards Hathersage Booths. The return is through a delightful and interesting wood and gradually brings the walker back to Grindleford Railway Station Café. On certain days, if you are lucky, you may be able to visit inside the medieval Padley Chapel.
The route takes the thirsty walker to the Millstone County Inn for refreshments and then the interesting walk through the wood starts. The wood is user-friendly. Three small streams can be crossed with ease. Even after heavy rain the path does not get muddy.
The walk is good for all walkers, but can give a person new to walking in the countryside the inclination to do more.
