The walk starts at Grindleford Station, on the Sheffield to Manchester 'Hope Valley' line. From the station, we get straight into the good stuff, with a climb up the stunning National Trust-managed woodland of Padley Gorge. As a contrast to Padley Gorge, we now climb between the edges of Burbage Rocks to the open moorland of Burbage Moor.

All too soon, we descend from the moor to the small village of Ringinglow and refreshment in the form of the Norfolk Arms.

Once refreshed, we follow the beautiful mixed and ancient woodland of the Limb Valley into Ecclesall Woods and back to Dore Station, to catch one of the frequent and inexpensive trains back to the start.

Dog owners, please note the possible presence of livestock on the route and also a number of dog-unfriendly stiles.

A really enjoyable walk one of the best in the area, one thing worth mentioning, at the end there is one of Sheffield's best kept secrets, a small miniature railway (it's on the OS map so you can't miss it) travel on the small trains before you take the larger version it's only a 5 min walk to the station. A very enjoyable day!
