Starting from the village of Gwithian near Hayle, our way takes us through the St Gothian's Sands Natural Park before joining the SW Coastal Path past the emblematic Godrevy Island and lighthouse. After a pause at Mutton Cove to watch the grey seals, we continue along the undulating and easy coastal path before eventually leaving to take a footpath down to the Red River Valley Natural Park. We will follow the delightful way through the park before finally having to climb up onto open farming country. A peaceful country lane brings us down to the Portreath road, along which there is an unavoidable stretch of about 700m. We leave the road to pass through the Rockpool Bar and Café complex and conclude the hike through the St Gothian's Sands Park once more, before finishing with a short stretch beside the Portreath road back into Gwithian.
