The walk is based on Hadfield Railway Station and starts along the bed of the railway line that once continued beyond that point. Below you is a series of reservoirs, to which the route drops. A dam is crossed and you may see yacht races here. A gentle climb brings a return on old tracks - and there are no stiles! There are good views throughout and firm going underfoot for almost all the way, making this an excellent walk for bad weather, although I really enjoyed it on a cold, sunny day in winter.

Did this walk today. Excellent but from waymark 5 took the path via Dismantled railway to mark 10.this avoids the walk between 8 and 9 and is more scenic and much safer. 7 miles in total
