This walk, like Walk 1237, visits the lovely Suffolk town of Hadleigh. Its long High Street has the widest possible variety of Suffolk domestic architecture; this is building with timber and plasterwork. Many of the buildings have the type of decoration known as pargeting. Some have incredible pillars or doorways and Church Square has to be seen with its 15th Century Guildhall, gateway and Deanery Tower. Overall House in the town is named after one of the principal people involved in translating the King James version of the Bible. The walk takes you over gently undulating farmland and beside two pleasant watercourses, one in the Kersey Vale and the other being the River Brett, where the riverside walk is a favourite of anglers and strollers of all ages.
