This is a wonderful place to come for a walk for young and old alike. The path starts close to the lake (ponds), where it is possible to do a spot of pond-dipping. Bring your own nets with you though, as it isn't possible to buy any.

Along the walk you will notice many tree identification boards, providing information on the different species in the park. About halfway round you will come to a branch in the path where a nature trail is signposted. The trail runs parallel to the lake and takes you through the natural development of a fen. It is definitely worth taking this route if you have school-age children with you. The nature trail is one-way; as the path is not wide enough for people to pass easily, to do the nature trail the circular walk must be taken as detailed below. At the end of the walk, there is an adventure playground, ideal to perk up the weary legs of the young.

What a beautiful park. I live close by and had never been before. Will definitely return to explore further.

The park has now be redeveloped & has reverted to what is thought to be the original layout for the grounds of the house which is now a hotel, The Boardwark has gone but it is still worth a visit.
