The Angles Way is joined at the start and end of the walk as it leaves the town and later returns. These sections are well-signed and used, so navigation is straightforward. Perhaps the most fascinating part is the long, flat crossing of the Mendham Marshes. The River Waveney is close by and is the lifeblood of the area, routinely flooding and reinvigorating the fertile plain. Look out for herons at the water's edge.
