Our journey into the remoter parts of the Breamish valley starts from Hartside and takes us across to Alnhammoor, crossing the River Breamish on the way. We follow the Salters Road, an old drovers road to skirt Shill Moor before descending down to Low Bleakhope, a remote farmsteading in the Cheviot foothills. From here we follow the river as it grows on our way back to Alnhammoor before retracing our footsteps back to Hartside.
