The walk begins at the Antiques Centre on the A6177 just west of Haslingden and goes south, using old railway tracks to leave the town. There then follows a steady climb onto Holcombe Moor with its wide views. A descent is made through National Trust woodland to the River Irwell, which is followed until the outward route from Haslingden is met. This is then followed back to the Antiques Centre (and its tea room) and the pub opposite.
