The walk begins and ends at Hawford, where you can camp at Millhouse Campsite.

We walk for 2.5km along the canal, where there is plenty of birdlife on the water. Then we take the Monarch Way for a short while before returning via crop-fields and quiet lanes.

It is difficult to locate the start of the walk from the alternative parking point in Lock Lane. We certainly did not want to cross a very busy dual carriageway twice. So we walked down the cul-de-sac part of Lock Lane to reach the canal, crossed the lock and walked 1/4 mile, under the main road to pick up the start point. As at July 2019 the path at the end of instruction 4, photographed by instruction 5 is totally blocked with brambles and nettles. We had to do a disappointing road route to the finish point.

Despite walking this area for 8 years, never been down here! Nice gentle walk, blogged at http://mappiman.blogspot.com/2011/02/5211-droitwichworcester-canal.html
