This walk is a good introduction for walkers a little apprehensive about venturing onto open moorland. The outward leg to the TV mast is on excellent wide vehicle tracks. The return is across open moor, but is constrained by more good tracks, so minor navigation variations will only mean reaching the next section a little one way or the other. No properties are passed once out of the valley, so it might be a good night walk, though don't linger at the TV mast. A plethora of security cameras is watching!
