This walk includes quite long sections of trail and track-walking, including parts of the Tissington Trail in both directions, though not the same parts. The remainder are field-paths, with one tricky section on the outskirts of Parwich, climbing through a small wood. The path has worn to rock in places and can be slippery, though going up this section is easier than trying to descend.
Most stiles were present when walked with a few missing on the return, but waymark posts were available in this area.
The central point of the walk has facilities for most tastes, with a village shop and a pleasant, walker- friendly pub 'The Sycamore', though they do request muddy boots be removed. The pub is a Robinson's house and usually has a choice of hand-pulled beers; they also offer a reasonable, good-value menu which is basic pub grub with adequate portions (except for salads). They have several bench tables outside for those carrying their own food, with some in the walled enclosure by the entrance and more available on the grassed area around the car park.
