This circular walk goes high above the valley and has superb views but, while much of it is very easy walking, there is one stretch that made me reconsider the grading that I would normally give a walk of this length. A lengthy stretch is rocky and difficult underfoot, making progress very slow and at the same time it has a steep drop on one side, at places with crags below. While it is not quite Crib Goch ridge I would hesitate to call it an easy walk, as that would give the wrong impression. It is among the best walks that I have done for some time, though, and I would recommend it. It starts with a steep climb from Hebden Bridge (which gives the views), follows good tracks for most of the way (except for the tricky section) and ending with a canal walk.

We have done this walk before joining Walkingworld. It is a lovely walk, which because we live fairly local, we usually do at least once per year. A variation is to follow the Pennine way southerly to the main road then onto the canal bank back to HB.
