This is a circular walk and although it dips down into a valley, it's a gentle uphill walk again to Hell's Mouth. Starting from the coastal path on the Reskajeage Downs, it passes down a field and into the hamlet of Coombe in the valley below.

From there it follows a hedged bridleway for about a mile, parts of which run alongside a bubbling stream. Then it's onto fields and through woods, on the way passing on old derelict cottage hidden in the woods, fascinating to look around but take care!

Then it's forward along a track to Hell's Mouth. For best effects try to catch it when the tide is in. Then simply follow the coastal path back to the downs, on the way looking right to see the distinctive monument and castle-like structure on Carn Brea behind Cambourne. Look behind you to see Godrevy Island lighthouse, the beautiful St Ives Bay and St Ives itself. Walk along the top of the rugged high coastline with surf thundering against the rocks. St Agnes' Beacon stands out against the horizon and on a clear day you can see right up to the lighthouse on the far side of Newquay.

Did this walk today used gps with gpx overlay, pdf to double check. No problems bit muddy in 3 or 4 places but a decent pair of boots overcame this, about 2hrs is correct. Nice walk on a cold day.

This would be a great walk with great views but when we got half way through the route was blocked. Just past the farm buildings as you are meant to go through the gate, there were bulls in the field and the farmer had tied the gate shut.
