The walk begins with a ramble mostly through forests beside the lovely Loe Water. The later part of the outward leg is along footpaths that can be quite muddy. Eventually we reach the Bar itself, where we can divert briefly to visit the HMS Anson Memorial before crossing the sandy bar. The final stage is along a well-prepared and popular way back, meandering through forests high above the water and with the welcome Penrose Stables café to enjoy. This latter part shares a common route with Walk 7728.
