Starting at the railway station in the centre of Henley, the walk heads over the River Thames before turning onto the Thames Path. Heading past the site of the various marquees for the regatta, the walk later passes Temple Island. At Hambledon Lock, the walk heads inland before passing by the Flowerpot Hotel and Culham Court. There then follows a reasonable climb (with great views over the Thames). From the top of Remenham Hill, the walk passes through farmland and woodland before returning to the start over the famous river-bridge next to The Angel pub. Enjoy the sights!

I walked this on a warm September day in Henley. Walk updated and brought up to date especially WM12/13/14. The hill is still as steep as it was but you can take a breather half way up and enjoying watching the many deer present!

There have been some slight changes to this walk since it was last updated. WM 12. The directions seem to imply taking the path to the left after crossing the now gated driveway. Whereas the entrance to the path is slightly to the left of the gates and then you have a choice of going left or right. You take the right path, as the original directions state. WM 13. The field mentioned here has now been divided in two. Once you cross the stile, you follow the new fence along the left side of the field to reach to the second stile. (the one that was previously in the middle of the field) Access info. Parking charges are now £1.80 for 4 hours. Not important really, but if you've got the information, it might as well be updated. Still a pleasant walk, though Remenham Hill seems steeper than I remember, maybe that's to do with being 11 years older than when I last did this walk!

Thanks for your comments Susan. I have walked the affected section and updated the text to reflect the changes.

There have been some significant changes on the Culham Court estate which are important for navigation on this walk. There are temporary arrows indicating the route through the estate. Point 7: The black metal gate is no longer there, only the wooden signs. Point 8: The cattle grid has gone as well as the gate.

Decent relaxing walk with some quite nice views. Good directions and generally very pleasant. I'd recommend taking the time to do the detour over the weir at Hambleden lock.

Very pleasant walk. A good tip is to start the walk at Aston (point 5). This alleviates the need to deal with Henley's traffic & parking issues !! Also, the last part of the walk is then along the Thames path to Hambledon lock, which is wonderful.
