This walk takes you through forest to open country, with great views of the hills around and then down the valley of the Braan, with spectacular waterfalls. If visibility is good, it is possible to see the Munros in the Beinn a' Ghlo.
The majority of the walk is on forest tracks with some stretches of footpath. Apart from an easily avoidable 200 yards on the path descending towards Rumbling Bridge, it is easy underfoot and gently graded, so height is gained and lost without too much difficulty.
Although no pub or cafe is passed on this route, refreshments may be available at The Hermitage car park (Waymark 01).
