This is an excellent walk at any time, but is especially good if wet underfoot, as a lot of this trail is along stone tracks. Starting at the National Trust's Hidcote Gardens, the route takes in the typical Cotswold town of Chipping Campden, famous for the wealth it generated during its heyday as centre for the wool trade, with a lovely church and surrounding buildings. It is also well-known as the northern start of the Cotswold Way which commences just outside the market hall. The small village of Ebrington has some interesting buildings which includes the Ebrington Arms public house. The return is past the large mansion-style house of Foxcote, eventually rising to obtain glorious views over Ilmington, with a descent back to Hidcote and more lovely views.
